        Supporting the CBCA charter, this branch website is a Western Australian-centric resource for children’s book information.

        You can find all the latest news about the CBCA WA Branch, event information, interesting articles, book launches and important milestones in the world of children’s literature here.


        The current threat of transmission of COVID-19 means that many events are being cancelled or postponed. The WA Branch will act on advice from the Health Department and State and Federal Government. Please check our website, Facebook page and your email inbox (if you are a WA Branch member) for updates as they occur.

        Annual General Meeting of the Children's Book Council of WA Branch (Incorporated)

        Members are cordially invited to attend the CBCA WA Branch 2020 AGM

        Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the CBCA WA Branch Annual General Meeting originally scheduled for 23 April was cancelled. The AGM must be held before 30 June and will now take place immediately prior to the June committee meeting on Wednesday 17 June. Places will be limited so that we can adhere to social distancing regulations, therefore RSVPs will be essential.

        Nomination form download: As we do not accept nominations from the floor at the AGM you must email completed nomination forms to our WA Branch Secretary at  no later than Wednesday 10 June 2020

        CBCA WA Branch 2020 AGM

        Date: Wednesday 17 June, 2020

        Time: AGM to commence promptly at 6.30pm.

        Committee meeting to commence 7.00pm.

        Venue: Oasis Lotteries House, 37 Hampden Road, Nedlands

        Please RSVP to  by Wednesday 10 June if you plan to attend.

        CBCA Book Week Grants Funding

        As you would expect, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted significantly on our Grants program for CBCA Book Week 2020.

        Currently our Grants Officers are considering all the EOIs received and will be in touch with stakeholders – public libraries and creators – as soon as the situation becomes a little clearer.

        Make Your Own Story Book

        The 2020 Make Your Own Story Book Competition is underway.

        Open to all children in year PP – Year 8.
